Those of us who are experiencing some level of credit problems may well be looking for answers to those issues and hoping to find a means to lower our payments and get ourselves free of debt sooner.
In many cases the answer will be some kind of debt consolidation program that we can use to put all of our payments in one place, lower the overall payment and save ourselves some money each month.

Also, when using a non-profit program to assist you in managing your debt, make sure that the company is a legitimate non profit by checking them out with their own "about" pages. Most legitimate non-profit corporations will offer you their standing on a pending or applied for IRS 501(c) (3) non profit charitable organization status.
It is important to note however, that simply because a company is non-profit does not mean that they do not charge a fee for their services.Some non-profit companies charge a lower fee, while others combine their fee with what you pay each month to your creditors.
Your fees will generally be lower than those you may experience with a for-profit consolidation company, but there is every likelihood that some kind of fee will exist for using their services.
Non-profit companies do exist to help you get out of debt and stay out of debt do exist. Many of them offer free counseling and other services that will assist you in your financial goals and help you to get all of your payments under one roof and get a more solid financial footing for you and your family.
NOTE: there are reputable debt consolidation companies in the market, so you must research and compare thoroughly to find the one that meets your specific financial situation. Specialized advise from a seasoned debt counselor is always suggested.
